I just found out about the Coopératique [fr] blog and read a short entry about Mercora, a peer to peer application promising audio broadcasting for the people by the people. Here are a few more options:

P2P-Radio is a program that can distribute audio and video streams (MP3/Ogg Vorbis/NSV) over the Internet in a peer-to-peer manner. It’s possible to create your own internet radio station with P2P-Radio. It’s programmed in Java and runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and many other systems.

PeerCast is a new, free way to listen to radio and watch video on the Internet. It uses P2P technology to let anyone become a broadcaster without the costs of traditional streaming. This means you get to hear and watch stations not normally found on commercially funded sites.

WASTE is an anonymous, secure, and encryped collaboration tool which allows users to both share ideas through the chat interface and share data through the download system. WASTE is RSA secured, and has been hearalded as the most secure P2P connection protocol currently in development.

Mercora is a free program that uses peer-to-peer technology to help you create your own network on the Internet. It has features for person-to-person communication, collaboration, and entertainment.

Hard to tell what Allcast does exactly, the whole website content is dependent on macromedia flash to display. Oh well…
