Kerry campaign: Candidate can still win Ohio By William L. Watts
1:35am 11/03/04
“WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) — Democratic presidential challenger John Kerry’s campaign manager said it was premature to call the crucial battleground state of Ohio for President Bush. “The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio,” said Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill, in a written statement. Two networks have called Ohio for Bush, projecting him to be within one electoral vote of the 270 needed for victory.”

I’m not holding by breath…
This situation in Ohio just got more complicated:
“Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell said those votes would not be counted for 11 days.”
Besides Ohio (20), here are the states still in dispute, according to media matters:
- Michigan (17) -> Kerry
- Wisconsin (10)
- Iowa (7) [postponed until the morning, problem with a counting machine]
- Nevada (5)
- New Mexico (5)
- Hawaii (4) -> Kerry
At this time it’s: Kerry: 225 and Bush: 249.
I’ll keep updating this until the result is known if that happens tonight.
