Technolube
Hello Alison,
We’ve only met a few times, never took the time to chat much, but I visit, from time to time ;)
You say “So when the île sans fil folks create relationships with communautique folks, things happen. Mark Surman recently noted that this kind of inter-group relationship (which is made so much easier using networked technology) creates change much faster than influencing policy.”
What puzzles me here is the parenthesis. Besides both working on/with technology, how has this enabled the groups to develop a better relationship ? Do you mean as opposed to being forced to work with each other ?
Honestly, maybe I take techology for granted and I don’t see the benefits I’m swimming in, but I don’t see how technogies, wifi or otherwise, can help in a specific situation like you’re commenting on.
On a larger social scale, maybe it’s enough lube, but to me, it comes down to people. People, thru whatever communication means, learn to trust each other, and links are formed.
P.S.: I was going to comment on your blog, Alison, but I’m already two weeks late. Also, I’ll try to post again on this topic, since it’s something I’ve been wondering about for a while. Your post just triggered this response, thanks ;)
